Bridgerton

With the beginning of a new social season, and ad fresh clutch of debutantes, the stage is set for scandal, romance and intrigue. The story follows the Bridgerton family, but especially their eldest daughter Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and her attempts to find love and a husband with an overbearing older brother. When she forms an alliance with the most eligible duke (Regé-Jean Page) of the ton in order to fool everyone, will it end in romance or tears? TW: Rape

A Deadly Education

When she was nine El (shot for Galadriel, think the "all shall love me and despair" version) was prophesised to destroy the world. Now she is in her second last year at a magical school that wants to kill her, she can't write an essay without inventing a spell to enslave minds, and worst of all, everyone's favourite heroic wizard-boy Owen Lake has just saved her life for the second time.

Splatter Capital

The tagline for Splatter Capital promises “a guide for surviving the horror movie we collectively inhabit” but really it is a breakdown of how splatter horror can act as a Marxist representation of life under capitalism – where bodies are dismembered and consumed by the more fortunate for the sake of maintaining production. It also poses that splatter horror can present a cathartic alternative, where the disenfranchised are able to rise up and literally “eat the rich”.
