2017 Roundup

I got so much reading done this year – both for Uni and for pleasure. There were so many fantastic LGBTQAI+ and diverse books released this year, and many others that I only discovered this year. I definitely needed them because it has been A Year. Sure Same-Sex Marriage is now legal in Aus, but it doesn’t really feel like a win after all the emotional trauma the plebiscite put me through. I hope everyone got through it ok! I had so many unexpected pitfalls this year, but managed to overcome each and every one, often with help from my many amazing friends and fantastic GF. I am so proud of how far I’ve come this year and I think that the strength I’ve gained both physically and mentally will help in the coming year as I figure out who I am outside of the education system! I have so many plans and finally feel like I am in a place where I am able to accomplish them and also help other’s accomplish theirs. I hope everyone else is proud of their successes this year, even if it was just surviving to see 2018! I’m proud for you! Here’s to a year that was terrible in every sense, but which taught us to find the good things where we can!
Without further ado and, as always, in no particular order, here is my incredibly angsted-over and chopped down top 10 for 2017! Asterisks denote lesbians.
